I have had lucid dreams all my life. I never knew there was a name for it till just recently. Ever since I was a kid I can fly in my dreams, change things constantly in my dreams and decide what I want to do and what I don't want to do. It is fustrating though because I have so much fun while lucid dreaming that real life just can't compare to it. When I actually get up its depressing to know that everything I experienced I can't manifest in real life. Ex...flying. It has gotten to the point where I just want to stop lucid dreaming, it can be draining at times and while I'm lucid dreaming I know I have limited time while in that "state" that I get fustrated and say to myself while in lucid state that this is rediculious and I decide to end it and wake up. But if I go back to bed I go straight back into the lucid dreaming. I have read the reported benifiets of lucid dreaming but I don't find it benefical but rather annoying. I just wish I could stop it.

I have always been a lucid dreamer, I have done this every single night for my entire life. I do not see the point in possessing this ability. Sure, it is fun, but one DOES become addicted and you end up sleeping too much and becoming lazy. The scenarios that I dream usually bear no relationship to reality, and I don't see how the lucid dreams interact with reality at all. Perhaps I am mistaken, but I think the majority of these images are just data dumps from my brain, often I can trace the origin of the images to some innocuous event that occurred that day. Mostly, these images have no meaning and just need to be discarded. I feel like I am swimming in a huge mental garbage pile. I am not opposed to lucid dreaming, but I don't think it has ever brought any benefit to my life. If anything, it has caused me to become lazy, and inhibited my success.
Nancy
P.S. The lucid sex isn't as good as real sex.

In lucid dreams I usually love jumping really high.

Never in my lucid dreams I was able to see whatever I wanted to see or go wherever I wanted to go. I once tried to imagine me at a castle and when I opened my eyes I still was at the same place. I wonder why I can't go to places or see whatever I want to see.

I've been a lucid dreamer from as far as I can remember.(I thought everyone did it) And it's actually very easy to transform things or scenes. All you (I?) have to do is believe it. And if it's hard for yourself to believe you can control the very dream you are creating, just keep repeating to yourself what you want to do. Example, if you are having a dark nightmare, stop and say to yourself in dream world "I am in a beautiful, glimmering 5 star hotel where everything is good" or where ever you want to be. Once you get tired of creating, you can trust yourself (the mind) and release control and see where the dream takes you. Just know that when you want to pull the reigns back in, you can. And you can do things like cartoons. Put your hand out of frame, think to yourself when you pull it in you will be holding the juiciest burger and you will! And it will taste great! Just believe!

Hi GREG FRIEND OF JOHN TITOR I never thought at this. But I do sometimes have problems and can not control my dreams. Since I experience Lucid dreaming I do not have warrior thoughts. Before I was fighting with bad characters, like in matrix yes and I was always careful to not be dominated. But sometimes I had to hide and I have to go up and down on labyrinths.
My dreams now are more pacifists. I am flying for pleasure. I am like a bird. Some times I dream Aliens too :-)) but I think this is because I watch too much TV.
How do you experience your lucid dreaming?
Last night I forgot I was in dream, because Lucid Dreaming means to be aware that you dream.
Thank you.

I have had OBEs from both the waking state and the dream state. My OBEs from the waking state occur very similarily to those of others, but what I do not understand is the ones from a dream state.

I'll be in a dream, feel the need to lie down in the dream, then separation occurs. There are some somatic sensations, but not like those that occur from the waking state. While I am "OBE" in the dream, the dream is usually on pause. Then, when I return to where my body should be (if it is seen or not), I lay down and the dream resumes from where it left off. If I were not lucid of the experiece, I could easily "forget" that the dream OBE occured because remembering the dream would pass over that experience because it was not part of the "story line".

I disagree with the article in that it basically says that OBEs are basically nothing more than misunderstood lucid dreams. I have experienced all of the above for years and would have to respectfully disagree.
