The United States is once again trying to take down Saddam Hussein. But this time we are fighting without one of the secret weapons we had during the 1991 Gulf War, and the U.S. is having more difficulty now. It may have been a mistake to leave that secret weapon behind.

That secret weapon was an elite, covert, and specially trained unit code-named “Star Gate.” It was a totally “black project”– that is, the American public was not allowed to know it even existed. In fact, only a handful of people within the highest levels of government knew of its existence.

This Star Gate unit was trained in a science called “controlled remote viewing,” the psychic ability to perceive thoughts and experiences through the power of the human mind. Controlled remote viewing is a highly organized science, researched and developed during the 1970s at Stanford Research Institute in California under the strictest secrecy and covert government funding. The unit was disbanded in 1994 due to post-Cold War military cutbacks.

I was one of the controlled remote viewers for Star Gate and was the unit’s trainer for almost eight years.

Remote  Viewing: Conditions and Potentials

The more I research the  practice of remote viewing, the more critical questions I have concerning the parameters  of its practice by growing numbers of people. The potential implications of the ability  to gather or intuit accurate information from any point throughout time-space are  absolutely staggering, so much so that when considering the expansion of remote viewing  as a type of new alternative industry, I wonder whether or not the extent of these  implications is ever fully appreciated. The geometry of human cognition would be  altered forever if remote viewing could really advance into the next stages of development  in terms of widespread mastery, legitimacy, and dissemination. Have we finally a  major gateway into the future of our own conscious evolution?

There are conflicting and numerous approaches to defining what remote viewing is  and what the reasonable limits of its application are. Despite the nuances pronounced  by each individual practitioner, remote viewing (often called controlled remote viewing,  or CRV, for short) is understood to be a method of accessing information–distant in either space or time–through psi, or psychic intuition. I think that no one is  really about to step forward and claim that they have the definitive answer to what  psi is, but this does not discredit the often startling evidence supporting remote  viewing itself; one might say that intelligent application of a mechanism is not  wholly contingent upon an explicit understanding of that mechanismís constituent  parts. (Most people could be considered competent thinkers without being able to explain the workings of the brain, for example.) So if remote viewing can be demonstrated  effectively, the question of its “engine,” psi, can be set aside for the  time being.

The True Story of the CIA’s Paranormal Espionage

This a book which was first published in 1996 in the US and Britain. In it David Morehouse tells how he was recruited by the CIA for its remote viewing programme and he gives examples of the achievements of the remote viewers and the methods employed. Do not confuse this book, which is factual, with two books with the same title by Robert Doherty.

The author, in his introductory note, says, “Psychic Warrior is a journey through time and space. It is a private witness to one man’s rise, awakening, fall, and rebirth. It is a testimony to life outside the physical dimension, to the gift of remote viewing, to hope for all humanity, and to the reality of those who would preclude you from ever hearing the message.”

I imagine most of you become interested in psychic matters in order to take and gain some guidance on aspects of your lives (lovers, money and children for example), but I expect that few of you realized that psychic abilities are also a security issue.

One of my favorite authors, Tim Ferris, blogged about lucid dreaming. Until recently, I wasn’t even aware that he’s into lucid dreaming. Most importantly, he offers scientific insight and really cool training methods. So check it out:

From 1994–1995 I had the great pleasure of training with wrestling legend John Smith, 2-time gold medalist and 4-time world champion (domestic freestyle record of 80–0; international freestyle record of 100–5).

He was famous for his low leg attacks that made even Olympic finals look like textbook demonstrations.

The problem was, of course, that I was in New Hampshire at boarding school and had never met John Smith. I only trained with him 45–60 minutes per night while I was lucid dreaming. I went on to have my best career season, which culminated with a more than 20–0 record before the national championships…

Questions Details of Twitter Remote Viewing Experiment

In just the past few days, parapsychologist and skeptic Dr. Richard Wiseman has launched an innovative experiment on the Internet-based social networking service Twitter which aims to test the reality of the ESP-based phenomenon known as remote viewing (RV). In the tradition of similar mass experiments such as that conducted by Stephan Schwartz’s Moebius Group via Omni magazine in the 1980s, Dr. Wiseman hopes to enlist the aid of everyday humans in creating a large statistical sampling that will either tell for or against remote viewing.

The International Remote Viewing Association, founded in 1999 by prominent former military and civilian members of the remote viewing community to disseminate information about and responsible investigation into remote viewing, applauds the imaginative way Dr. Richard Wiseman is using Twitter to explore the existence of this interesting phenomenon. We find the premise behind the experiment’s structure to be interesting and generally sound, and wish Dr. Wiseman well in demonstrating a successful outcome once all results are calculated.

Scientists: Psychic Powers And Remote Viewing May Not Be So Far-fetched After All

Dr Chris Roe places a pair of enormous fluffy earphones over the head of a blonde 20-year-old woman. He carefully slices a ping-pong ball in half and tapes each piece over her eyes. Then he switches on a red light that bathes the woman in an eerie glow, and leaves the room.

After a few moments, a low hum begins to fill the laboratory and the woman begins smiling sweetly to herself as images of distant locations start to pass through her mind. She says she can sense a group of trees and a babbling brook full of boulders. Standing on a boulder is her friend Jack. He’s waving at her and smiling. She begins to describe the location to Dr Roe.

Half a mile away, her friend Jack is, indeed, standing on a boulder in a stream. Somehow, the woman has been able to “see” Jack in her mind’s eye, even though all of conventional science — and common sense — says it is impossible.

Is this simply a bizarre coincidence?

Or could it be proof that we all possess psychic powers of the type popularised in such films as Minority Report?

That is what Dr Roe is investigating.
